I hope you are all liking my posts. Well today I am going to tell about the Nehru Memorial Library that is inside the premises of Teen Murti Bhavan.

Nehru Memorial Library is one of the most finest library for the study of Indian Independence Movement and also for the study of pre and post colonial period.The library at first was started in the museum itself in 1966. But in 1974 a new building came into being. Thelibrary is only openfor the bonafide researchers who has to pay a nomianal fee of about Rs 500/-. The library contains about 267 thousand printed books and 200 thousand pictures of Jawaharlal Nehru’s life.

The books there can be bought. Regular purchases helps the library to get upgraded. The library was first made inside the museum itself in 1966, butlater a new building came into being from 1974. The library also focuses on modern Indian history. It has a back to back volume ofnewspaper cuttings which are quite crucial for the study of Indian History. It has about 867 thousand pages of manuscripts. It also has 18,231 microfilms on private papers , missionary records ad also has 51,322 microfilms. The Library also has a good seating arrangement having good space for all laptop, books, etc. The first floor in the library contains seating section (very comfortable), semi--nar halls, Manuscripts Reading room, etc. The library also has about 5 microfilm readers, the reservation for it takes place on Friday and that is for a whole week. A day has 2 sections (for microfilm readers) one if from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and than from 2 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. On Saturday there’s only one show from 2 p.m. to 5:15 p.m.

Hello everyone, I hope you are all liking my posts. Well, today I will be discussing about the Nehru Memorial Museum which is inside the Teen Murti Bhavan. NEHRU MEMORIAL MUSEUM The Nehru Memorial Museum started on 1st April' 1965, by recreating, rearranging all the Nehru Ji's stuff. Since that day, an annual lecture take place in Teen Murti Bhavan on April 1st every year. The lecture is named Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Foundation Day Lecture .  The museum opens is open all week except mondays. Hello everyone, I hope you are finding my blog interesting. As i said in my last blog in this post I will be discussing about the history of Teen Murti Bhavan. HISTORY Teen Murti Bhavan was built in 1930 for the Commander-in-Chief of the British Indian Army . He had the second highest post in the Army. It was at that time called "the Flagstaff House". When India gained independence, the Britishers emptied the place.  Then Jawaharlal Nehru, our first Prime Minister, he accepted the Flagstaff House as his residence. From then it is called the Teen Murti Bhavan. Teen Murti Named after the 3 life-sized statues which stands in-front of the gates of Teen Murti Bhavan. Made in 1922 (made 7 years prior to the building). These statues are made of stone and bronze. Leonardo Jennings was the sculptor. Hello everyone, I am back! Well as this blog is for my assignment. Well,  Teen Murti Bhavan was my research area and after going there I had to find an opportunity area. An opporunity area is you can say an scope of improvement. In this assignment I had to look at my area in a designer's perspective, that how can we improvise the world rather than just changing trends, how can we make big changes via small things. Well, coming back to what I was about to write. We had to find a opportunity area and I have found it!  As i was going through the premises of Teen Murti Bhavan In the process, I saw an opportunity in the planetarium regarding the information display. There are various boards kept in the planetarium filled with textual information of very small size that no one wants to read beacuse all the people come with their younger ones, who gets bored and dont let them read either.
